A Capella Stuff

Instruments? We don't need no stinkin' instruments!

There are two kinds of people in the world...

Okay, there are really more than two kinds, but there seems to be one pretty specific kind that likes a capella music. And if we're in that group, we tend to like it a lot. I'm not talking about choral music (not that there's anything wrong with that) but about barbershop and doo-wop. For some of us, there's just something about it.

These recordings aren't the greatest. Most were done pretty quickly with some of the parts just barely conquered. The "Zamboni" recording is twenty years old and was done on a 4-track recorder without a click track or anything. I'll redo them some day, because they have so much room for improvement with today's editing tools and the like. And when I do, I'll see if I can't chart them as well. You know, just in case I'm not the only one of these kind of people in the world.

Did you know that "a capella" is the Latin spelling while "a cappella" is the Italian spelling? Me neither. Nice to know that you have to put a little effort into getting it wrong.
